The correct method for keyword density
Keyword density refers to the number of times a chosen keyword appears on a web page. Keep in mind, however, that keywords should not be used excessively; They should only appear in the right places.
If you repeat your keywords with every other word on every line, your site will most likely be flagged as fake or spam.
The keyword density of a web page is always expressed as a proportion of the overall word content.
Let's say your webpage has 100 words (not including the HMTL code required to create the page) and you utilize a specific term five times in the content. The keyword density on the page is calculated by dividing the total number of keywords on the page by the total number of words. As a result, 5 divided by 100 equals.05. Because keyword density is expressed as a percentage of the total number of words on a page, multiply the above by 100, or 0.05 x 100 = 5%.
To be noticed by search engines, the acknowledged standard for keyword density is between 3% and 5%, and you should never exceed it.
Keep in mind that this rule applies to all of your website's pages. It can also refer to a collection of keywords connected to a single product or service rather than a single term. The keyword density should always be between 3 and 5 percent.
Putting your keywords the right way
To assess the density, follow these simple steps:
- Copy and paste the content of a single web page into a word processing tool like Word or Word Perfect.
- Select 'Select All' from the 'Edit' menu. Now pick Word Count from the 'Tools' menu. Make a count of how many words are on the page.
- Select the 'Find' function from the 'Edit' menu. Go to the 'Replace' tab and type in the keyword you're looking for. Replace the word with the same word to prevent modifying the content.
- The system will tell you how many words you've replaced once you've completed using the replace option. This shows how many times the keyword was used on that page.
- The keyword density may now be calculated using the entire word count for the page and the total number of keywords.
